Kingsclere Parish Council owns and maintains one allotment site, Bushnells Allotments, located on Longcroft Road. The site consists of approximately 57 allotment plots which range in size from 2 to 5 poles.
The plots are leased to local residents for them to use for cultivation. The allotments is a much loved community space and those that lease them grow a whole range of fruit, vegetable and cutting flowers and meet to share produce and growing tips with each other. They are also visited by an array wild bird and other wildlife including several resident hedgehogs. One plot is allocated as a communal orchard for the use of allotment tenants.
Allotments plots are allocated in accordance with the allocation policy below. If you wish to take on an allotment in Kingsclere, this document will give you all the information you need about eligibility and allocation procedures. There is often a waiting list for plots.
Plots are leased for 12 months in accordance with the rules and regulations publish below. Plots range in price from £17 per plot per annum to £42.50 per plot per annum depending on size, and a £10 admin charge is levied each year for lease renewal. A £25 admin charge is levied for the first allotment agreement of a new tenant.
